Server notes
The admin surface is the first thing to remember: this game has no RCON. AMP sets AdminMethod to STDIO and AdminPortRef to 0, and the hosting provider states verbatim that Ground Branch does not offer an RCON interface. The first admin is bootstrapped like this: start the server once so the ServerConfig folder is created, read AdminSetupPassword.txt inside it, join your own server from the client Server Browser by name, open the console with the backtick key and run admin setup with that password (it expires on first use), then run admin to open the admin menu (F8 and the ESC menu also work). Groups can only be created in Admin.ini, AdminGroups lines must come above the Admins lines, and UniqueId is a bare SteamID64 - the :0 suffix from older guides is no longer required. Both ports are UDP: game 7777 and Steam query 27015, and upstream states both must be open for normal behaviour. For a direct connect the provider tells players to try the game port first and the query port if they see "No server found at that IP address", while the steam connect URI that AMP builds uses the query port; both readings are shown here and this site does not choose for you, nor does it emit any steam:// link. Two caveats on A2S: AlphaGSM states that SteamSockets builds under Proton do not expose a local A2S reply, and node-gamedig has no entry for this game, so a third-party query tool finding nothing does not mean the server is down. Every config file lives under GroundBranch/ServerConfig (Server.ini, Vote.ini, Ban.ini, TeamKill.ini, Admin.ini, MapList.ini, mods.txt, AdminSetupPassword.txt), is created only after the first full start, takes effect only after a restart, and may be overwritten if edited while the server runs. Launch parameters override the ini: the pelican README notes that the server name and max players are overwritten by the Startup settings on every start, and AMP indeed writes both the command line and the ini. Workshop content is pulled with the base game appid 16900, not the server appid 476400; the mod list is mods.txt with one ID per line (roughly since V1035.2, and older approaches no longer work), downloaded at startup into GroundBranch/Mods, with clients subscribing and syncing automatically. The server binary exists for Windows only (appinfo oslist is windows), so Linux relies on Wine with WINEARCH set to win64 (not the 32-bit recipe), and AMP recommends the cubecoders/ampbase:wine-stable container to avoid installing Wine on the host; Shader warnings and "Could not find Wine Gecko" are known noise that AMP discards. There are two build branches, public and communitytest-ds; the latter needs a Beta Password and the server must be updated again after switching, and a client on a different version is refused outright. No official dedicated-server hardware spec was ever published, so the only quotable figures are a panel maintainer observations from 2023; this site makes them editable and never prefills them.
