The direct-connect address; one UDP game port, with the competing query-port readings side by side

Low-poly Multiplayer Island Survival · Multiplayer Survival / Sandbox
Longvinter hosting in short: the dedicated-server appid is 1639880 (Longvinter Dedicated Server, type Tool, oslist windows, linux so native on both platforms and no Wine), while the client 1635450 is Windows only and launches with -eac_launcher (Easy Anti-Cheat on the client). UDP 7777 is the only port all five sources agree on (AMP, the three official wiki setup pages, the official docker compose, the old official docs site and the community container), whereas the query port has four mutually different official readings: the new wiki setup pages list UDP 7777 alone and warn verbatim not to open TCP on 7777 because Unreal Engine does not use TCP connections, the new wiki FAQ asks for 7777 (UDP) and 27016 (TCP and UDP), the old official docs site also asks for 27015 udp+tcp, and the official docker compose opens only 27016 tcp+udp - all four are shown side by side and none is chosen. Config lives at Longvinter/Saved/Config/LinuxServer/Game.ini (WindowsServer on Windows); the official docs cover 18 keys and the community container adds 5 more (Hardcore plus four multipliers), 23 key slots in total. Seven same-named keys carry different defaults in the official docs versus the AMP template (MaxPlayers 32 officially versus 64 in AMP, PVP true versus false), because AMP downloads its game.ini from its own CDN. This game has no RCON: the community README says verbatim that Longvinter does not support RCON/REST API, AMP sets AdminMethod=STDIO with AdminPortRef=0, and the six official hosting pages never mention RCON. The AdminSteamID key name is misleading - the official docs say it takes EOS IDs (32 hexadecimal characters, space separated), not SteamID64 values. The server list runs through EOS rather than Steam A2S (the official FAQ ends its "not showing up in the server list" troubleshooting with installing EOS certificates, and node-gamedig has no entry), so this site sets no serverProtocol. Version anchor: appinfo publishes eight server branches, six of which are literally named after versions (1.10b, 1.11, 1.13, 1.14, 1.0-releasebuild, 1.0-pets) while public and experimental are not; the dedicated-server appid has no Steam news at all and the client announcement titles carry no version numbers, so the game version behind public cannot be verified and confidence is recorded as inferred. The official hosting documentation is complete but stale: the server pages in the wiki source repo Uuvana-Studios/vinter-wiki were last committed in 2024-07 while the dedicated-server public branch was updated on 2026-09-22. The official minimum hardware contradicts itself (2 GB on the setup pages, 3 GB in the FAQ) and both figures are shown; ARM and Apple Silicon are explicitly unsupported.

Longvinter Ports & Protocols
| Port | Protocol | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| 7777 | UDP | The game port; AMP, the official wiki setup pages, the official docker compose, the old official docs and both community projects all agree |
| 27016 | TCP/UDP | The query port per the official FAQ and the official docker compose; the three setup pages on the new wiki never mention it |
| 27015 | TCP/UDP | A query port only the old official docs still ask for; the new wiki and the official compose use 27016 alone |

Server notes
First, ports: UDP 7777 is the only game port all five sources agree on, while the official readings of the query port differ four ways - the three setup pages on the new wiki list UDP 7777 alone and warn verbatim not to open TCP on 7777 because Unreal Engine does not use TCP connections, the new wiki FAQ asks for 7777 (UDP) and 27016 (TCP and UDP), the old official docs site docs-server.longvinter.com additionally asks for 27015 udp+tcp, and the official docker compose opens only 27016 tcp+udp. All four are shown side by side, none is chosen, and both 27016 and 27015 are labelled as not verified by running a server. Second, the server list runs through EOS rather than Steam A2S: the official FAQ ends its "server is not showing up in the server list" troubleshooting with installing certificates, stating verbatim that it "might be related to your connection to EOS server", hosted on uo.uuvana.com; node-gamedig has no entry for this game and the WindowsGSM plugin marks its query method as an "Undisclosed method" TODO, so this site removed the serverProtocol field instead of changing it to another value. The official docs also admit that servers "might be listed in wrong regions occasionally", which is what ServerRegion is for: the official enum is EU / NA / SA / AS / AU while the community project lists seven values (adding OC / AF / AN), and both are shown. Third, this game has no RCON: the community container README says verbatim that Longvinter does not support RCON/REST API, AMP sets AdminMethod=STDIO with AdminPortRef=0 and ExitString=stop, and the six official hosting pages never mention RCON, so no RCON generator is offered and administration goes through the server console. Fourth, the config key names are a trap: the official documentation writes ServerTag while the official example ini, the AMP template and the community container all write Tag; which spelling the binary honours could not be verified this round because no server was run, so the generator emits Tag by default with a switch. AdminSteamID is misleading in the same way - the official docs say it takes EOS IDs (32 hexadecimal characters from the game settings, separated by a single space), and a SteamID64 will not work; Password must use only letters and numbers per the official note; and both ServerName and ServerTag carry an official note to avoid the word OFFICIAL. Fifth, do not copy AMP defaults: the official defaults are MaxPlayers=32, PVP=true, MaxTents=2, ChestRespawnTime=600 and SaveBackups=false while the AMP template carries 64 / false / 3 / 900 / true (seven same-named keys differ), because AMP downloads its game.ini from its own CDN; the WindowsGSM plugin offers a third MaxPlayers=16 but its author places that field under a TODO reading that the options are unsupported and undocumented. Sixth, the official minimum hardware contradicts itself: the three setup pages say 2 GB RAM while the official FAQ says 3 GB RAM, so both figures are shown, no recommended tier is invented and no per-player memory formula is applied; the CPU must be at least 3GHz on a 64-bit system with a router that can port forward, and ARM or Apple Silicon is explicitly unsupported because SteamCMD does not support those platforms (the community container builds a box64 variant for that case). Seventh, config edits require stopping the server first: the official FAQ says verbatim to terminate the server before editing the configuration file, and notes the server saves every 10 minutes and overwrites live changes, with a restart needed for changes to take effect. Eighth, mind the documentation staleness: the official wiki hosting pages were last committed in 2024-07 (source repo Uuvana-Studios/vinter-wiki) while the dedicated-server public branch was updated on 2026-09-22 and experimental on 2026-09-29, which is why the five keys the community container adds (Hardcore and four multipliers) are absent from the official docs and are graded B here rather than presented as official. Ninth, the official repository Uuvana-Studios/longvinter-linux-server opens its README with "Repository Deprecated" and has migrated to Steam distribution; its systemd unit (including KillSignal=SIGCONT, Restart=always, RestartSec=15), control socket, backup script and the log-scraping server-ID script are still usable, but its git-pull updater no longer applies under Steam distribution, and every one of them is labelled with its source status here. Tenth, on Linux the Steam SDK is needed in addition to the game (the official Dockerfile installs it with app_update 1007); a server that exits at once with a steamclient error usually needs it, and AMP solves the same problem by putting linux64 on LD_LIBRARY_PATH. Eleventh, this site used to say that periodic "LogEOS: Error: UpdateSession" console lines are a known harmless issue; no official source for that claim was found this round, so it is downgraded to unverified and is not stated as fact.
