Server notes

Minecraft Java Edition does not use SteamCMD: the server is Mojang’s own server.jar, downloaded from minecraft.net and launched with java -Xmx… -jar server.jar nogui, which is why this page ships no SteamCMD command. The very first start exits immediately — you must write eula=true into eula.txt before it will run. Keep online-mode=true on any public server; turning it off lets cracked clients impersonate any account. Do not expose the RCON port 25575 to the internet — bind it locally and tunnel in. Every extra point of view-distance and simulation-distance costs real CPU; the default 10 is plenty, so lower it if ticks are slipping.
