Server notes

Dedicated server app id 2394010, anonymously pullable. 8211/UDP is the game port and 27015/UDP the query port (open it if you want to appear in the community list); the REST API uses 8212/TCP, while RCON on 25575/TCP is officially marked for deprecation, so prefer the REST API on new deployments. The most common mistake is editing the wrong file: DefaultPalWorldSettings.ini is only a template that gets overwritten on every update — the live config is Pal/Saved/Config/LinuxServer/PalWorldSettings.ini, and you must have started the server once so the directory structure exists. The format is brittle: OptionSettings=(…) has to be one unbroken line, or the server silently falls back to defaults. Player count is hard-capped at 32, memory growth is a long-standing issue, so schedule restarts and back up SaveGames regularly. If a setting refuses to take effect, check WorldOption.sav in the save folder — it overrides the ini.
